Katrina Kaif who was born on 16 July 1984 is a British Indian, She was born in Hong Kong to a Muslim Indian Kashmiri father, Mohammed Kaif, and a British mother Suzzane Turquotte, She has seven siblings, Her parents were separated when she was too young, She was raised in Hawaii then United States and then shifted to England, which is her Mother’s home country, Her mother was a lawyer but later became involved in charity work..

she has been a Tip and now actress too, she had started her career with Modeling at Hollywood, then moved to Bollywood, she has also done Telugu and Malayalam films. She is right now the most loved and famous actress in the industry.

When she just entered to the Teen age, she got the opportunity to start her career, she started with Modeling at the age of 14, it was a jewelery campaign, she continued with it by getting in to the contract with a company for a year, she worked with brands like La Senza & Arcadius, her career took her to London Fashion Week, She walked on the ramp at the Fashion Week. her modeling assignments made her the face which was being recognized, she impressed Fillum maker Kaizad Gustad, who is a london based film maker, he gave her a chance to be the part of the movie Boom in 2003. The Bollywood fillum makers were not sure about taking her as lead because she did not know how to speak Hindi, and if she speaks it will be the British accent,But Ram gopal Varma took the risk and signer her for Sarkar in 2005, where she played the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s girlfriend, it was a small role, but this was also the door opener for her to the Bollywood fillms, she also did her next fillum Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya opposite Salman Khan in 2005, She not just entered in the bollywood but won Award too, she got Stardust Breakthrough Performance Award, She got next movie Humko Deewana Kar Gaye with Akshay kumar in 2006 then in 2007 was signed in Namastey London with Akshay Kumar again, then Deols selected her for Apne,then Partner & Welcome welcomed her with open arms in Bollywood.

After showing her sweet & cute girl performance she showed another shade of her in 2008, she played a negative character in Abbas-Mustan’s thriller, Race. This was opposite Akshay Khanna. she also gave another hit movie with Akshay again in Anees Bazmee’s movie Singh Is Kinng, after that she gave another film with Salman which was not a hit, it was Subhash Ghai’s Yuvvraaj. but her fan following kept increasing after her 2009 release New York with John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh, her performance was appreciated by Taran Adarsh saying,

After playing different role in Race she chose a different fillum ever made in Bollywood, “Blue”, India’s first underwater thriller, which was a multi starer action movie which didn’t do well on the Box office, after that she again came as the cute and sweet looks with Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor and De Dana Dan once again with Akshay Kumar. Both films were commercial successes.

Now she is waiting for her next movie Raajneeti which is again an new experiment for her, she a political womens character in Raajneeti, this is again a multi starer fillum which is going to be released on 4 June 2010.
Her other fillum coming in 2010 is Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan along with Akshay Kumar, releasing on 24th December 2010.

Controversies:

During the shooting of Namaste London (2006), which featured Katrina Kaif wearing a knee-length skirt inside Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's shrine in Ajmer, had created uproar among khadims and the shrine administration.

As per Islamic traditions, women wearing skimpy outfits are not allowed into the shrine. It may be mentioned here that on October 2, during the shooting of Namaste London, Kaif had walked into the masjid wearing a knee-length skirt, which had created a uproar.
